Kathleen Cameron and Poo Wright-Pulliam (and others) began a Big Day birding competition several years ago to raise money for conservation issues. Last year raised $1800 with one 4-person team. This year, 3 teams have already committed and several more may before the June 2nd competition. The contest will see how many bird species each team can see in a 24 hour period. Contact Kathleen Cameron ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) or Karl Ruprecht ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Indian Summer has arrived in Southern Idaho. Mornings are colder. Leaves are changing color. The Neotropical migrants are heading south and will soon be replaced by Dark-eyed Juncos, Rough-legged Hawks, and many other northern and higher elevation species. Be sure to get out birding to enjoy the many migratory species that are only seen as they pass through on their way south (log on to the IBLE website to see whats currently passing through). And be sure to take advantage of Prairie Falcon Audubons fall programs and field trips listed to the right! Read more

I am planning bird point counts at this site for the spring, summer, and fall of this year, occurring every other week for approximately 13 weeks. My colleagues and I will be conducting many of the proposed wildlife surveys ourselves;... Read more
